D. Scott Luttrell
CEO and Chief Investment Officer

Mr. D. Scott Luttrell provides active oversight for LCM Group’s family office investment activities.  Mr. Luttrell founded LCM Group in 1988 out of his desire to diversify capital and focus on the growing opportunities in the rapidly growing alternative investment sector.

Prior to founding LCM Group, Mr. Luttrell was a Partner at Caxton Associates, LLC, where he was responsible for portfolio risk management and the firm’s global fixed income group. In 1991, Mr. Luttrell merged his hedge fund—the Everest Fund, a global macro absolute return investment fund—with Caxton after several years of successful investment performance. Mr. Luttrell began his investment career as a member and independent trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, where he traded financial market futures, global interest rates, and foreign exchange markets for 10 years. During this same period, Mr. Luttrell was an officer and Partner of Chicago-based trading firm, TransMarket Group.

Mr. Luttrell received his degree in Business Administration/Finance in 1977 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 2001, Mr. Luttrell attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program in Corporate Governance.

Mr. Luttrell currently serves on the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the YMCA Retirement Fund, a $6.6 billion retirement fund serving the employees of the YMCA. Mr. Luttrell also currently serves on several private company Board of Directors and is active in various academic and community organizations including serving on Southern Methodist University’s Cox School Executive Board and the Cox School Alternative Asset Management Center Board of Advisors, is Chairman of the Board of Directors of HOI (Helping Others Internationally), Board of Directors of East-West Ministries, and the Board of Trustees to the National Christian Foundation of North Texas.

Mr. Luttrell also serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors to North Avenue Capital and private equity firms Ballast Point Ventures and Mangrove Partners. Mr. Luttrell is Founder and Trustee of The Light Foundation.

Mr. Luttrell served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of Florida Bank Group, Inc., a Federal Reserve regulated bank holding company, until its sale to IberiaBank (IBKC: NASDAQ) and served for 14 years on the Board of Directors of Cbeyond, Inc.(CBEY:NASDAQ) prior to its sale to private company Birch Communications.

Mr. Luttrell and his wife, Laura, have been married 41 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren.

Michael K. Ake, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Michael Ake provides senior level oversight and management for LCM Group’s financial reporting and controls, tax planning and compliance, family entity management, and investment portfolio support.  Prior to joining LCM, Michael served eleven years in senior corporate finance roles including six years as Director of Operations and Logistics Finance at Cott Corporation and five years at Harris Corporation where he served as Tax Director of the Electronic Systems and Semiconductor Sectors. Prior to joining Harris Corporation, Michael spent eight years in public accounting with Arthur Anderson LLP. Michael earned a BS in Accounting and a Masters of Accounting in 1986 from University of Florida. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounting.

Scott A. Scrivener, CFA
Managing Director – Investments

Mr. Scott Scrivener provides deal sourcing, coordination, due diligence and analysis for LCM Group’s investment activities. He also oversees LCM proprietary trading activities.  Scott began his career at LCM in 2003 serving as Mr. Luttrell’s trading assistant and market analyst.

Scott earned a B.A. in Finance from the University of South Florida and holds the CFA charter. Scott serves on the University of South Florida’s Applied Securities Analysis Advisory Board.

David S. Luttrell
Managing Director – Investments

Mr. David Luttrell provides deal sourcing, coordination, due diligence and analysis for LCM Group’s investment activities. He previously served as Senior Economic Analyst and Special Assistant to President Richard Fisher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and worked in the Private Equity/Venture Capital Group at Makena Capital (Menlo Park, CA) and the Financial Institutions Group at Temasek Holdings (Singapore).

David earned an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He also earned undergraduate magna cum laude honors with a B.S. in Economics and B.B.A. in Finance with a concentration in Alternative Assets from Southern Methodist University.

David is a Trustee of grant-making organization, The Light Foundation, and is the Founder and Director of Dallas-based Christian stewardship ministry Ambassadors Club. He is on the Partnership Board of East-West Ministries with his wife, Keelie, and David previously served 5 years on the Board of Directors for HOI (Helping Others Internationally), a community and economic development NGO in Central America.”

Scott A. Geppert, CFA
Senior Portfolio Associate

Mr. Scott Geppert joined LCM in March 2019.  Scott provides idea generation, due diligence, and analysis for LCM Group’s investment team, with a primary focus on public equity markets.

Scott has a decade of experience in the finance industry, including four years of public equity analysis experience at Westwood Holdings Group. He has a passion for analyzing companies, market, and industry trends. Scott began his career at Prudential Capital Group as an analyst for private investments in middle-market companies.

Scott graduated magna cum laude honors with a B.S. in Economics and a B.B.A. in Finance with a concentration in Alternative Assets from Southern Methodist University (SMU). He also played collegiate soccer while attending SMU.

J. Jett Robertson, CPA
Portfolio Associate

Mr. Jett Robertson joined LCM Group in June 2018.  He provides portfolio monitoring, due diligence and analysis support for LCM’s investment activities.

Jett began his career in public accounting as an audit associate focused within the Asset Management Group at KPMG LLP. Jett earned a B.B.A. in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy from Baylor University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.


Susan Smith
Assistant Controller

Mrs. Susan Smith joined LCM Group full-time in February 2018 as an Assistant Controller in our Tampa office.  Susan earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of South Florida.


Tina Longest
Executive Administrative Assistant and Office Manager

Mrs. Tina Longest joined LCM in January 2015 as the Executive Assistant to Mr. Luttrell and Office Manager.  Tina joined LCM from Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX, where she served as Resource Coordinator for over 14 years.  Tina graduated from ESS Business College.
